European elections

Post by John » 08 May 2019 12:32

It's been announced that we will all be voting in the European parliament elections at the end of this month. UK vote Thurs 23rd May.
Spain vote Sunday 26th May.
Results about 28th May.

I wonder what you think of these elections, both in Spain and in the UK, which is supposed to be leaving?
I think opinions here are varying from total apathy, to fervent leave and remainers wanting to vote for either Brexit parties, or the Lib Dems who are the remain party.

It seems the main two parties might get a kicking.
Spain turnout is about 44% but UK turnout is only about 35%, so the majority didn't seem to care in 2014.

I suppose the response to this reflects the turnout in these elections - not many people care. :|

We have very active canvassing going on here, and they're really keen to make contact and have a good discussion...not too easy when the accent here is so unfamiliar! We just nod a lot and listen. We have friends here who support the different factions but any discussions always seem to be very good hearted and not at all confrontational.
In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
